Media Pitch – Main Task
Title: Alive
Genre: Action/Adventure
Form: Opening to a feature film
Location: Toby’s House/school
Time: Morning
Characters: Joe Brezinski, & Mikey
Plot Outline: Joe lives an average life, consisting of his morning routine, going to school, homework and hobbies like watching TV, and then repeating. Until one day, everything changes. He is distracted from a phone call and is part of a tragic car accident. However, when we comes round he finds himself in a bright white room, listening to an anonymous voice who breaks the news to him that he is immortal. This is where we will cut the feature film opening and leave the rest of the story to the viewer to imagine.
Key Micro Features: Cinematography, Camerawork, Sound
Target Audience:12+
Audience appeal: It’s something that many people of many ages always appeal to so we would like to make this film intro to give them something to watch that they are interested in (in terms of super powers). It can appeal to a range of different people of different ages, but we presume that people around 12-20 would be more interested as it is modern and action based.
Influential Films: Marvel/DC, Spiderman, Batman, Flash, Avengers, Thor, Ironman etc
Selling Point: Set around the idea that the main character has an ability that everyone wishes they had, but is impossible for them to have.
Roles:
Toby: I am going to be the actor, the writer, the storyboard artist, and the location finder. This entails being the main actor of the film intro, writing the story and everything that comes with it, producing the storyboard for the film, and finding the location for the film.
Charlie: I am going to be the director, co-producer, and co-writer. This entails me directing the entire film, ensuring filming and editing is completed to a satisfactory level, and help writing how the film plays out and giving my insight for how the film should be made.
Michael: I am responsible for the editing of the film, which means I’m responsible for putting the clips together, adding the titles, colour grading the opening and for creating the special FX in the film. I am also the sound editor and composer so I am responsible for finding/creating any music used in the opening and I’m responsible for mixing the audio for any dialogue and sound FX/Foley sound that will be used.
George: For the main task, I am responsible for the cinematography, which means that I will be in charge of all the camera work, filming, proposing how the actors move during a shot. Im also going to be helping with the acting meaning that I will play the main characters best friend and this means I may be in a scene or two.
